The Beauty of Solid Timber Cladding

The Natural Beauty Of Timber

From internal solid timber feature walls to external cladding, timber cladding gives every project that unique character. The use of timber cladding exhances the built projects connection to nature commonly known as biophilia.

Exterior Timber Cladding & Linings

External timber cladding used on an external wall as a feature brings warmth, colour, and character to any architectural design. Modinex’s collection of tongue and grove profiles and clip-in Austratus batten systems make it easy to create an architectural timber cladding feature. Our collection of cladding options can be used as a horizontal or external vertical timber cladding. Our range is available in bush fire resistant timbers like Spotted Gum, Blackbutt and Ironbark with up to BAL 29 fire ratings.

Interior Timber Claddings & Linings

Our tongue grove systems or clip-in batten Austratus systems can also be used as interior timber cladding to add warmth and biophilia to any indoor space. Internal linings and battens are available in a range of timber finishes from natural oils, interior matt and gloss finishes as well as a fire protective coating for projects with group 1 fire rating. The range of size options available mean you can create a timber batten clad wall by mixing and matching sizes to suit your exact requirements.

Charred Shou Sugi Ban Timber Cladding

Charred external cladding commonly known as Shou Sugi Ban cladding, brings an elegant, timeless aesthetic to any project through its natural texture and character. Also known as Yakisugi or Japanese burnt timber cladding, Shou Sugi Ban is a traditional Japanese method of charring timber with fire. This offers a textured black burnt look timber wall cladding both internally and externally. With many years of expertise in charred external timber cladding, Modinex can assist you with standard cladding profiles up to stuctural beams in a natural charred finish.

Band Sawn External & Internal Timber Cladding

Looking for that natural biophilic finish to your external timber cladding, a band sawn finish gives you that natural rough character. Also when used externally on timber cladding, a band sawn finish, due to its rough surface absorbs more oil giving the timber greater protection to the Australian climate.
