Dungogie

A unique and inspirational home

United by the belief that our quality of life is intrinsically linked to the quality of both our natural and built environment, the owners of Dungogie House and their interior architect, VIDA Interior Design & Building Biology, and builder, Pivotal Building Projects, have created a truly unique and inspirational home

The look, feel and even the smell of the Western Red Cedar chosen as the wall and ceiling panelling in the main living area and master bedroom, coupled with its sustainability credentials, perfectly met the brief. From the entrance to Dungogie House, timber panels envelop the ceiling, instantly capturing and framing the view from the living area to the pool and out to the bushland and creek that runs through the property. The golden-hued warmth of the timber is carried into the master bedroom.

Here, it is used to clad the walls, create a counterpoint and complement to a stunning stone feature, and once again lead the eye to the beauty that lies beyond.

In an ode to the home’s blissful location, the home was crafted with the utmost care and consideration for its surrounding environment; and designed to enhance the wellbeing of its human inhabitants. This extended to the choice of materials for the home’s interior, responding to the owner’s preference for the use of natural materials
and an inviting, neutral colour palette.
