To boost the weathering process, the timber cladding was pre-finished with Patina colour. This shade of grey successfully pre-empted the natural aging of the timber.
As construction progresses on the landmark Bribie Island development, so too the ‘silvering off’ of the timber under the Patina coating as the wood surface oxidises. At the same time, the thin film is protecting the wood during the process.
