Charred
Shou Sugi Ban charring for a deep, matte-black surface with the grain still legible up close.
Spotted Gum & Ironbark onlyNewport Charred Cladding is supplied with the evidence specifiers ask for: species-specific
data sheets, bushfire (BAL) and fire-group documentation, and durability ratings.
Most ratings vary by species, so figures are confirmed against your selection rather
than quoted as a blanket number.
- Ceiling and soffit lining
- Internal wall panelling
- Feature and accent walls
- Commercial fit-outs and hospitality
- External cladding, in the durable species
- Reception and joinery linings
Timber is only a low-carbon choice if it is sourced and used well. Our boards come from PEFC chain-of-custody certified supply, and we make products that are built to last: durable species and quality coatings that keep boards in service for decades rather than years.
Offcuts and short lengths are re-used where a job allows, and sawdust and shavings are recovered rather than landfilled. At end of life, solid timber can be re-milled, repurposed or composted.
