Paddington residents for more than 20 years, the owner’s focus was on ensuring their newly built home respected the suburb’s heritage with architectural features such as verandas and timber. However, with the wisdom of a renovation of one of the suburb’s older homes behind them, the couple worked with their architects and builders, Ark +
Co Projects, to select materials that combine a timeless look with easy maintenance.

Every choice represents an intelligent consideration of both form and function – from the timber-look aluminium of the exterior façade to the pool decking which remains cooler underfoot on hot summer days, and the natural timber-lined ceiling of the pool house and entertainment area. The result is a home that prioritises liveability and the realisation of a vision for an inviting, inclusive place to be enjoyed with family and friends.
